The re-spins may surprise you
You get a win by lining up 3 symbols on any one of 8 possible paylines. You get those symbols by landing them in the 5 reels 1-row slot machine below, they then get transferred above.
How many lines you get will determine how much you win. But as you only spin 5 symbols, and there’s 9 you can get on the board, how do you get more than one line win? Well, every win gives you another re-spin of the reels, adding to the possibility of catching even more symbols.
8 lines will pay out the maximum of 400x your bet, whilst 1 line pays out 2x your bet. You can build a real momentum here, and it’s super fun to watch.
The Magic Journey slot is volatile

So why only give this Magic Journey slot game only 3 stars? Despite a high RTP of 96.54%, we can’t help but be disappointed by the fact that the max win is a little low and the minimum bet a little high at 0.20 a spin for what amounts to 8 paylines.
Still, we had such a great time playing here, that we have to recommend it, if only because we love the unique spins and the fact that it’s trying something new, and mostly succeeding.

Magic Journey Review Conclusion
We'll admit that we wavered about giving this Magic Journey review 3 stars or 4 stars. Mostly because we had such a good time playing on such a wonderfully unique game.
Ultimately we gave it 3 stars because it seems odd that you can't get 7 lines wins, even though this has 8 winning paylines, and the max win is only 400x your bet for a volatile game.
Don't let that stop you, there's something wonderfully fun about matching symbols and a brilliant Oriental game theme that gives the Monkey King a fresh new twist.
We will say that if you are looking for something a little bit different, and have a softspot for games like Bingo or classic slots like the Mega Joker slot, then we highly recommend playing Magic Journey, one of the newer Pragmatic Play slots.
